Moku

A screenless wearable camera that quietly captures everyday moments before they are framed, checked, or optimized.

00

problem

Today, capturing memories often interrupts the moment itself. Phones encourage people to frame, check, retake, edit, and judge an experience while it is still happening. Instead of preserving ordinary life, the act of recording can turn everyday moments into something that feels performative, optimized, and made for an audience.

solution

MOKU removes the screen from the camera experience. By using automatic interval capture and a simple wearable form, it lets users stay present while the device quietly records everyday moments to be revisited later.

MOKU began with a simple question: what happens when memory capture no longer asks for our attention?

Instead of designing another camera that gives users more control, MOKU explores the opposite direction. It removes the screen, preview, and instant feedback loop, creating a quieter way to collect everyday memories. The device is worn on the body and captures automatically at selected intervals, allowing small, imperfect, and in-between moments to be preserved without interrupting the experience itself.
