But snacks are more than just food: they are a small comfort ritual that helps people feel grounded during a life transition. When storage is uninspiring and messy, it works against that sense of home.

SMAC is a magnetic, modular snack box system designed for small-city living—helping snacks earn a place in the home rather than being tucked away. The system lets users stack, mix, and rearrange boxes to fit tight spaces and changing needs, turning storage into a playful, customizable display. By combining functional organization with lively color and a buildable system, SMAC supports a tidy space while reinforcing the everyday joy of snacking—making a new apartment feel more like home.
SMAC is designed around the reality of small-city living, where storage must adapt to limited space and changing routines. Instead of assigning snacks to a single cabinet or drawer, SMAC allows them to live across the home—on countertops, shelves, or vertical surfaces—wherever space is available.

At the core is a magnetic modular system: each box can snap together securely while remaining easy to separate and rearrange. Users can stack boxes vertically to save surface area, cluster them horizontally for shared snacks, or split the system into smaller groups as needs shift over time.
The boxes are built for everyday grab-and-go use. Accessible openings make it easy to take snacks with one hand while maintaining order, and a balance of solid color framing with transparent surfaces helps users quickly identify contents—keeping snacks visible, tidy, and inviting rather than hidden and scattered.
